Just a short walk from the harbour, behind The Sloop Inn, tucked right in the corner of the car park is the amazing Sloop Studios.
It amazes me at how overlooked this little gem of a place is.
Their sign states that the craftspeople here sell only the goods they have made or have worked on themselves, either at the Sloop Studios or in their own workshops.
Inside is full of open studios with fantastic makers, creatives and local artists, making and selling their gorgeous things.
There are jewellery workshops.
There are art and print studios.
The cobbled walkways are so pretty.
And the figurehead at the end is quite dramatic!
There are stained glass studios.
sculpture and embroidery studios
and Pick Pretty Paints, who was on TV with her paints with Kirsty Allsop!
I believe there are 10 makers who work at The Sloop Studios, so I've not covered half of them!
Take a look at the Sloop Studios website to see all the lovely makers >>
Getting There
Walk to The Sloop Inn and turn up Fish Street. Turn first left into the The Sloop Car Park (usually jammed). If you look in the far back corner, by the St Ives Sailing Club boats and kayaks, you will see the entrance to The Sloop Studios.
A Bit Of History
On the walls are 2 frames with lots of photos and information about the history of the building.
