The Sloop Inn - The Oldest Pub In St Ives Cornwall
The Sloop Inn is an iconic landmark of St Ives. Who hasn't sat outside in the sunshine drinking a pint of Doom Bar, watching the crowds go by?
The Sloop Inn is said to be the oldest pub in St Ives. It is dated to circa 1312 which makes it pretty old!
On first glance The Sloop Inn just looks to be a little pub with low beams and ceilings. However, looks are deceiving as there are rooms to rent, a pub restaurant, The Captains Table (on the 2nd floor of the pub) and just behind the pub The Upper Deck with lovely views from the terrace.
Often during the warmer months there are buskers outside The Sloop to entertain the crowds.
During the evenings and weekends The Sloop Inn hosts lots of live music events. Check out their facebook page for details of these.
The Sloop Inn plays a central part in the famous St Ives New Year's Eve celebrations. Crowds of revellers in fancy dress congregate here to drink and watch the midnight fireworks.
