St Ives Memorial Gardens – A Lovely, Quiet Place In The Heart Of Town
The Memorial Gardens are right in the center of St Ives, in front of the Parish Church (St Ia). They are small, but perfectly formed and are a lovely little tranquil spot in the middle of the St Ives hubbub.
It is not immediately obvious from the outside that there is a garden there, but behind the war memorial is a lovely little oasis of calm. Walk up the steps past the war memorial and through the gate
The garden is quite small, but rarely busy. There are several benches to sit on and, if you are lucky, listen to the church bells. If the wind is blowing in the right direction on a Sunday you can also hear the singing from the church.
The planting is beautiful and lush, and, like most gardens in St Ives, pretty tropical looking!
