Lambeth Walk Beach – Lovely At Low Tide
Lambeth Walk Beach isn’t very well known, despite it being right in the centre of St Ives. It is found along the walkway (also called Lambeth Walk) between the RNLI station and Porthminster Beach.
It is pretty much non-existent at high tide. However, low tide reveals a lovely sandy beach with lots of rocks to clamber over and explore. You can also walk around to the harbour and Porthminster beach. Do take care of the incoming tide though!
You can often find a stone balancer creating amazing towers of rocks here.
Getting To Lambeth Walk Beach
Go along the pathway behind the Lifeboat Station (by the public toilets). Lambeth Walk Beach is the area behind it.
You can also get to it a very low tide by walking across the Harbour.
You can only get there by walking – it is pedestrian only access.
Access Onto Lambeth Walk Beach
To get down to the beach is a bit of a scramble over rocky bits.
Facilities On Lambeth Walk Beach
Toilets: There are public toilets on the walkway just before you get to Lambeth Walk Beach.
Car Park: The nearest car park is The Stennack or The Station car park.
Food & Drink: The town is only a minutes walk away and the nearest cafe is probably The Hub (amazing coffee and cakes!).
Lifeguard: There is no lifeguard all year round.
Dogs: Dogs are allowed on here all year round.
