Fore Street is the main shopping street in St Ives. It runs from Market Place down to The Wharf Post Office at Chy an Chy.
Traffic
It is one way traffic down Fore St running from the post office to Market Place. If you can avoid driving down here, do so at all costs. It is pretty narrow and often packed with people, making it tricky to drive along.
Parking
The nearest car park is behind The Sloop Inn.
Toilets
The nearest loos are by the RNLI station or in The Sloop car park.
Shops On Fore St
There are many independent shops along here, too many to mention them all.
Here are some of the ones I love.
St Ives Bookseller
Gorgeous independent bookshop with loads of interesting books for both children and adults. I love their window displays too!
The Painted Bird
Lovely independent home and lifestyle shop selling all the things you wish you could decorate your house with!
Off The Beaten Track
Fantastic independent surf shop selling lots of surf stuff and cool clothes.
Leddra Chemist
Leddras has been on Fore St since the dawn of time. It is a super little chemist with very helpful staff.
Seasalt
I'm dressed pretty much in head to toe Seasalt clothes these days. Their dresses are amazing quality and I adore the fabrics.
Superdry
I always find it a little weird walking into Superdry as they often have their music booming out. I'm just a little old for it, although I do have a lovely Superdry Winter coat.
Fat Face
If I'm not in Seasalt clothing I'm often in Fat Face things.
Quba & Co
Is there anyone in St Ives who doesn't have a Quba sailcloth bag? They sell really great quality clothing and accessories with a nautical slant.
Finisterre
If my other half could afford it he would be dressed head to toe in Finisterre clothing. Their coats are amazing, he has far too many!
Wind An Sea
Another good surf shop which has been in St Ives since 1976! Lots of great t-shirts and hoodies (according to my 17 year old nephew).
Rolys Fudge Shop
It is so hard to walk past Rolys without buying some fudge. The incredible smells that waft out of there is just ridiculous. Their seasalt fudge is just the best!
Hudson St Ives
I love this little gift shop, it has some gorgeous wares in it. And in the room at the very back is a brilliant kids section - another good place to buy birthday presents from.
Mountain Warehouse
Yes it is a chain but immensely useful to have in St Ives. They also have the most amazing view out of the window at the back. This shop used to be Woolworths back in the day.
Common Wanderer
A really good outdoor gear shop.
St Ives Brewery
St Ives Brewery is an independent craft beer brewery. They produce a range of craft ales and beers, inspired by Cornwall and the warm local community.
Cornwall Soapbox
Handmade Natural Soaps, luxury Scented Candles, Reed Diffusers and Bath & Body products, all made in Cornwall.
Atlantic Shore Knitwear
This is a gorgeous shop which has been on the go since 1980! They sell loads of things made from wool, natural fibres and anything sheep related. Their window display is always good.
Blueberry
This is a new shop to Fore St and they caused a bit of a stir early in the year when they painted their shop a very bright blue! They were told to repaint it white, which they did (somewhat sadly as I quite liked the blue). They sell clothing and accessories inspired by British flora and fauna and the British countryside.
Ula
Ula sells clothing and accessories made by lots of different Cornish makers. It's where I get my Poppy Treffry fix (they used to have their own shop in St Ives).
Cream Cornwall
Cream Cornwall sell lots of home furnishings and accessories all with very distinctive coastal designs on. I love their octopus lampshades!
Cyril Noall Square
Pop your nose into Cyril Noall Square. It's a tiny place with only 3 businesses there - a rock shop, a glass studio and a bright pink tea room.
Gullz R Loud
If you are looking for seagull related things then this is the shop for you!
St Ives Bakery
I wasn't going to include Cornish pasty shops in my list but I couldn't miss out St Ives Bakery. This is our go to place in St Ives for Cornish pasties and there is often a long queue out of the door at lunchtimes.
Brocante
Whistlefish
Whistlefish is an art print shop who do the most amazing cards (as well as art prints). They have special offers on where you can choose 10 for £10 which is a complete bargain! If you are my friend this is where I get those lovely birthday cards from.
Johns
Johns is another St Ives stalwart that seems to have been there forever. It is a bottle shop selling all sorts of amazing drinks, including lots of local brews.
Belts Buckles & Bags
This little shop always confuses me. It is rarely open and has the most eclectic range of belt buckles in the window.
Flapjackery
Flapjackery had big shoes to fill, taking over the iconic Ferrells bakery on Fore St. They sell a huge range of flapjacks plus other sweet treats.
The Shell Shop
The Shell Shop is the place to go for holiday gifts! They sell all things sea, shell and nautical that appeals so much to my children. They also sell buckets and spades.
Wharf Post Office & Toy Shop
This is where so much of my money is spent! From treats for the kids, to the kids spending all their pocket money here. They have a brilliant range of toys and games - including our game The Great St Ives Pasty Dash!
If you think a shop on Fore St needs to be included on here, please let me know!
