The St Ives Parish Church is the big church in town near the RNLI station. It was concecrated in 1434. It is dedicated to the Celtic saint St. Ia, and also to St. Andrew, patron saint of Fishermen and St Peter, the Rock.
The church is built of Cornish granite from Zennor and the tower is one of the tallest of the cornish churches, standing over eighty feet high, like a shepherd watching over its flock on land and sea.
Inside, the church looks like the hull of an upturned boat.
There is a Barbara Hepworth sculpture of Madonna and Child which is a sad memorial to her son Paul.
There are 2 bells in the church tower which were cast in Hayle in 1830.
The church is open daily and the Sunday said mass is at 8am with a full choral sung mass at 9:30am.
The church is part of the Anglican Diocese Of Truro.
On good weather days there is a lovely cafe in the gardens of the church.
Christmas Time
The church tower always gets decorated at Christmas time with a star which can be seen far and wide across the town.
The church door gets a beautiful floral bower.
and they hold a lovely childrens service on Christmas Eve.

Fore Street Methodist Church is on Fore Street in St Ives. It is a very welcoming, friendly church that is a big part of the local community. It is part of the District Of Cornwall Methodists.
They also host some lovely music events and a Christmas tree festival each year.
Sunday services are held in the main church at 10:30am with Creche facilities & junior church. There is an evening service held at 6pm.

United Methodist Church

The United Methodist Church in St Ives is on Bedford Road. The congregation is small but very welcoming and they hold a regular Sunday morning service at 10:30am. In addition there is a coffee morning on Fridays, Bible study on Tuesdays and a craft group which meets on Thursdays.
The church building is also used by the youth group Flashlight. The aim of Flashlight is to engage with vulnerable young people who may have problems with school education, home or personal issues. It runs various workshops, including art, cooking and music.

St John In The Fields church sits at the top of Higher Stennack. It is an Anglican church that was originally built for Halsetown. It was originally in the middle of a field, but the housing of St Ives has encroached on it. It is still set in some lovely grounds though.
The church is part of the Anglican Diocese Of Truro.
The sunday service is held at 11:15am for 1 hour. There is a Sunday school attached with childrens activities.
Roman Catholic Church - The Church Of The Sacred Heart & St Ia
The Catholic church in St Ives is on Tregenna Hill. Their Sunday mass starts at 9am and they usually have a weekly mass on a Wednesday at 9:30am. The Rosary is prayed in church on alternate Wednedays at 2pm.

Towednack is a beautiful church out in the sticks near Nancledra. They hold regular Sunday services at 10:15am and all are welcome. They also hold lovely events such as flower festivals. They have bell ringers that practice on a Monday at 7:30pm. New ringers are always welcomed!
The church is part of the Anglican Diocese of Truro and has joint benefice with the adjacent parish of Zennor.

The church in Zennor is a wonderful church to visit. It sits overlooking the sea and has been there since Norman times although much of it is 13th and 15th century. It most famously has depictions of the Mermaid Of Zennor including the Mermaid Chair is is believed to be over 600 years old.
They host a wonderful Christmas tree festival each year which is beautiful to see.
The church is part of the Anglican Diocese of Truro and has joint benefice with Towednack church.
St Anta & All Saints Parish Church, Carbis Bay

St Anta sits on the main road through Carbis Bay. It is quite a new church and grew from the growing population from around Lelant and Carbis Bay.
The church is part of the United Anglican Benefice of St Uny Church and St Anta and is part of the Anglican Diocese of Truro.

St Uny is a beautiful church that is part of the local community. It is linked to the St Uny Church School in Carbis Bay (our only religious based school in St Ives). The church is open 7 days a week and is responsible for the Lelant Heritage Centre.
